[Usage | Bandwidth | Billing | Uptime | Refunds | Privacy | Referrals | Support]Redwood Virtual allows any service that is legal in the United States and the country of the user's orgin to be run on your LVS. You may not engage in dubious or illegal activities, such as sharing copyrighted material (music, software, etc), distributing child pornography, or launching probes or attacks on other systems (DOSing, portscanning, ping bombing, etc). We will immediately suspend any such account that is brought to our attention.
You may not host a spam relay on our network. You may not run software that continuously maxes out our CPUs. For example, you may not run seti@home or distributed.net or anything similar. Remember, an LVS is a shared system. The memory allotted to you is yours to use up. However, the CPUs are shared among others on the system. Abusers will be delt with swiftly.
Return to topYou do not have to worry about outgrowing your server needs. At Redwood Virtual, your server can grow with you. All of our servers have a 100Mbps connection to the Internet (full speed, full duplex fast ethernet, to be technical). Each account has a set bandwidth limit which is calculated as the total transfer of incoming plus outgoing traffic. If the monthly bandwidth limit is exceed, you will be billed an extra $5 per GB that you have exceeded your limit. However, we will waive the extra $5 per GB fee if you upgrade to an account that meets your bandwidth needs. If you choose to upgrade, we will simply increase your disk space and upgrade your RAM and swap allocation. You will not need to re-install anything.
Return to topAccounts at Redwood Virtual are automatically renewed until they are cancelled. To be clear, monthly accounts are billed once a month, yearly accounts once a year. This is done via paypal. Your recurring billing date will be on the date you signed up. If you would like to cancel your account, you can either email our support staff at support@redwoodvirtual.com or cancel your subscription via paypal directly. Please see our refund policy before proceeding.
Return to topWe guarantee 99% uptime for our servers. Scheduled server maintenance is excluded from this percentage. If the server with your LVS is inaccessible for whatever reason, we will reimburse you for the amount of time the server is down. This does not include downtime caused by mismanagement of your LVS. You are responsible for the uptime of services running on your LVS.
As a note to the 99% uptime guarantee, this guarantee only covers the network connection and the physical machine that your virtual server resides on. If you destroy your virtual machine, misconfigure it or anyway make it so it does not re-boot properly this guarantee can not apply. You will need to make a special request for our attention to help you restore your virtual server.
Return to topRedwood Virtual offers a full money back refund for the first 25 days. If you are not satisfied for any reason with our service during the first 25 days, we will refund your money whether you chose to pay monthly or yearly. For accounts that are held longer than one month, we cannot refund the remainder of a billing period if you cancel midway. For example, if you cancel your account on the 1st and your next billing cycle is on the 15th, we cannot refund the remaining 14 days. Your account will be officially terminated on the 15th. Refunds are only available for payments made with PayPal.
Return to topAt Redwood Virtual we believe that privacy is a right that is treaded on all too lightly these days. We will never sell or give out any information given by you to us to anyone unless we are ordered by law enforcement.

We will give you one month's hosting free for every account that signs up at the same level, or a portion of a month free if someone you refer signs up at a lesser level. For example, if you pay $20 a month and your friend signs up for a $10 account, a future month will only cost you $10. Another example, if you pay $10 a month and a friend of yours signs up for a $40 account and stays 6 months, then you will receive 4 months free!
Either way, it's a win-win situation. Many of our customers place links to us on their homepages and come close to paying their fee month-to-month just based on referrals. Your referral must stay a customer for 6 months to be eligible for the referral fee, but we believe our performance, reliability and price are so great that it is in everyone's best interest to continue service.
Return to topRedwood Virtual offers free technical support within a reasonable amount of time for all server and LVS related issues. However, we are not obliged to answer linux related questions like how to set up qmail, how to compile eggdrops, etc. We will, of course, answer all emails sent to support@redwoodvirtual.com, but such questions will be of lower priority. Our business provides Linux Virtual Servers, but it is the prerequisite of the customer to know how to use one.
